Despite the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, tankers continue to pass through it. At least two ships passed through it in a day.

In the last day, at least two tankers have passed through the Strait of Hormuz, despite the US blocking it. This is according to data from the web map Strait of Hormuz and the vessel tracker Vessel Finder, studied by "Novaya-Evropa". One of them is the Chinese vessel Rich Starry, which is under US sanctions and is carrying methanol. Another is Murlikishan (flag of Madagascar), also under sanctions and heading to Iraq for loading fuel oil. The Telegram channel Baza claims that another tanker, Peace Gulf (flag of Panama), managed to pass through the strait, heading to the UAE. As "Novaya-Evropa" previously wrote, the average traffic through the Strait of Hormuz before the war in the Middle East was approximately 60 tankers per day. After the hostilities began, an average of four to seven tankers passed through the strait. Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that Saudi Arabia urged the US to lift the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and start negotiations with Iran. On April 13, the US began blocking maritime traffic to Iranian ports. The US military also began restricting traffic to Iranian ports in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. At the same time, as noted, the US does not obstruct other vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz and heading to ports of other countries.
